Summary
Peter Sykes is the founder of GROW Coaching and Development Limited, where he works with individuals, teams and organisations to support meaningful development, better conversations and practical change.
Peter is an experienced facilitator, coach and learning and organisational development professional. Before setting up his own business, he spent over 35 years working at the University of Manchester, where he supported leaders, managers and teams across a wide range of development areas. His work now includes leadership coaching, career coaching, team facilitation, away days, action learning, group coaching, inclusive practice and workplace communication.
Peter’s approach is down to earth, thoughtful and practical. He creates space for people to think clearly, talk honestly and move forward with greater confidence. He is particularly interested in helping people navigate change, develop their leadership style, improve working relationships and have the conversations that often get avoided.
As a facilitator, Peter helps teams step back from day-to-day pressures and focus on what matters. This might include reviewing progress, planning ahead, strengthening team culture, improving service, exploring feedback or creating realistic actions that people can actually take forward.
Peter is also qualified in MBTI and Strengthscope, and uses these tools where they add value to the conversation, rather than as a tick-box exercise. His style is warm, challenging when needed, and grounded in real workplace experience.
Through GROW Coaching and Development, Peter works with universities, schools, public sector organisations, charities and businesses. His work is built around one simple idea: when people are given the right space to think, reflect and talk properly, better decisions and better working relationships follow.
