Why can I do it?
Grant Thornton Partner for just short of 21 years; all spent working with dynamic people to make their businesses great; 12 years of which also involved leading GrantThornton locations.
I have the technical capabilities and expertise that comes with an accounting background, but my focus has increasingly been on commercial negotiation and strategy and getting the very best out of people and teams. To support this, I am an NLP Practitioner and European Mentoring and Coaching qualified. This means that I work well in situations where " it is impossible", "we need to find the way forward" or "I have told them, but I am not getting what I want".
I currently mentor coach into the FTSE100, professional services, fintech and the charitable sector.
My non-exec and advisory roles currently or recently encompass:
Chair and non-exec roles in fintech, property funding and professional services
Advisory on building Vision, Mission and Values into a corporate body
Advisory into strategic direction in an international organisation
Trustee of an international humanitarian charity
Whilst this may appear to be a very full portfolio, it is dynamic with projects coming to the fore or completing on a regular basis; there is always room for a conversation.
