Summary
Over 35 years IT Management and technical experience with a proven record in delivering best of breed solutions, end to end projects on time and budget, improving efficiency through the implementation of new technologies.
My goal is to work with team members and stakeholders to meet the challenges of an ever changing business environment and to drive forward the ethos of service delivery. My experience of service delivery is both with internal and external customers within retail, consultancy, hospitality, and IT sales and development. Achievements range from founding an IT service company, and a new sales and support division, creating a new culture with a pro-active customer focused approach to management and team development within IT delivery the delivery of major infrastructure projects and the implementation of ITIL best practices across a range of organisations.
In 2010, I setup Web Cats Design Studio whilst assisting my partner to develop her accountancy practice. The aim was to provide websites for start-up SME’s and assistance in developing both marketing and business strategies which would deliver long term development for new companies whilst supporting the aims of my partners new company.
Since 2010 when I first setup Web Cats I have gained extensive experience and been complimented on my ability to design accessible user friendly websites that include interactive features, video segments and sliders.
These elements are an increasing requirement in many websites and especially with regard to a project we have concluded for Motoring North West, who produce road tests of vehicles and then required them integrating into their website, a further an equally important requirement was the ease in which visitors could move around the website.
We have developed websites for a range of platforms, desktop, tablet and smart phones.
We have experience of working to meet tight deadlines which is of the upmost importance to start-ups as their website may well be the focal point in setting up a business venture and I aim always to meet the deadlines of clients.
A very important part of this is gaining a clear understanding and analysis of the requirements and then presenting it back in the form of a project document in a concise manner, I belief my communication skills both written and face to face have been invaluable in this respect.
They say a picture tells a thousand stories, and the graphical interpretation on any website is very important, and does determine the pleasure factor in the viewing of a website, I have extensive knowledge of Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Serif Graphical Products, Microsoft Expression Suite of Tools.
My copywriting / content skills, a good website is only as good as the interest it generates and this is where good content and copyrighting comes to the forefront, it is also very important with regard to search engine optimisation and gaining a ranking on for example Google.
My experience of utilising social media for positive publicity campaigns and there integration within websites, everyone wants social media and as a part of a website design is a great media for getting across your brand and identity known to a wide range of potential clients. We have run competitions for various clients via the integration of their website platform and social media platforms.
One example is a competition with Motoring North West to win the opportunity to become an F1 driver.
I have also for the last two years integrated a family competition for Trevor Adams Portrait Studio where visitors to the website and social media platform could win a family portrait shoot at the studio.
I have extensive knowledge and experience of using a wide range of design packages; these have included Dreamweaver, Microsoft Expression, Serif WebPlus as well as editors for HTML coding.
Web Cats has a range of varying clients across the North West in many sectors of business within the SME arena and a number of national publications it has developed and supported.
