Summary
I have been a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists since 2002 and of the Institute of Translators and Interpreters since 2006. I hold a diploma in translation and a diploma in public service interpreting as well as a DEUG LEA (French language degree) and a postgraduate certificate in education.
Over the years, I have always worked using languages, whether as a PA, as a teacher and head of faculty, as a translator and interpreter or as a mentor to students preparing their translator's examination.
I am an examination assessor for the Institute of Translators and Interpreters.
I mainly work with businesses dealing with French speaking countries, museums, solicitors, the courts and the police.
I am well known for my reliability and flexibility.
Expertise
I translate/transcreate from English into French. I am a native French speaker, but have lived and worked in the UK for over 30 years, so my command of both languages is excellent.
The main fields I translate in are tourism & travel, marketing, development & training, commerce, newsletters, EEC/EU materials, governmental/NHS documents, court and legal material.
