The North West Association for Business Psychologists is launching a programme of networking and CPD events to create a supportive and vibrant community of like minded individuals to help us to promote our work and develop ourselves. The first event will take place on the 21st July 6-8pm at Manchester Business School where Cliff Lansley & Aaron Garner from Paul Ekman Group will be presenting "Lie to Me". This interactive and entertaining session, based on the science behind the hit Sky 1 TV series "Lie to Me", will cover: • a simple psychological model to understand truth & lies, • test your ability to read the emotions of others (and re-test to see how much you've improved), • improve your ability to quickly recognise and interpret micro facial expressions PEI training programmes, on which this presentation is based, cover the psychological models behind truth and lies, the skills required to identify 'Hotspots' or observable/audible leakage across the five channels. They help delegates to read and evaluate the degree of truthfulness and credibility in what others are communicating. Delegates also learn about memory, and how we can ascertain the credibility of a verbal or written statement of events through scientific content analysis.
