MAKE SURE that you and your Accountant are aware and update your payroll run for any hours worked by your employees from Monday 1st October 2012. The Government has advised of this year’s National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates which have increased to the following hourly rates of pay: • The adult rate (anyone aged 21 and over) will increase by 11p to £6.19 an hour • The rate for 18-20 year olds will remain at £4.98 an hour • The rate for 16-17 year olds will remain at £3.68 an hour and • The rate for apprentices will increase by 5p to £2.65 an hour. It would be YOU liable for any claim made by one of your employees NOT your Accountant or whoever runs your payroll! For further advice and guidance don’t hesitate to contact to discuss further.
