Kamran Ellahi, Managing Partner of Baker & Coleman Solicitors has been shortlisted for the Young Lawyer of the Year Award by the prestigious Insider Media.
The award is a recognition of Kamran's vision and determination in setting up and growing the firm.
Baker & Coleman Solicitors continues to grow and now has two offices, in Blackburn and in Spinningfields, Manchester. The firm is activity involved in commercial developments and corporate transactions across the county.
Fellow Partner, Saghir Munir commented: "I left an international law firm to join Baker & Coleman Solicitors because I bought into Kamran and his vision of establishing a caring Commercial Law firm that would offer the highest quality legal services at reasonable prices."
The Insider said that there had been strong competition across a range of sectors including accountancy, law, property and business development.
Sam Jones, Managing Director of Tunafish Media, who is also a judge, commented that he was looking for individuals who went "above and beyond their day job".
Fellow judge Alex Smith of Shepphard Robson said "We were looking for something outstanding, people who are going places and who have achieved a lot in a year."
The judging panel also included the Eword's Kleon West, Jennifer Smith of JMW, Sandie Gaines of the University of Law and Peel Ports group HR director Howard Sloane. Insider's editorial director Miri Thomas chaired the session.
The winners will be revealed at a black tie event on the evening of 21 April 2016 at the Lowry Hotel in Salford.
