D.E.A.F work in partnership with many Universities nationally providing Deaf Learner Events. The events are similar to a University ‘open day’ in which d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners can attend the event to gain information on University life and the processes involved. On the day a variety of presentations are delivered by D.E.A.F; the University; Student Finance England; Disabled Student Allowance; local MPs; and Deaf role models. A University campus tour is also part of the day.
The attendees are targeted through Roadshows, in which D.E.A.F visit a variety of establishments such as schools, colleges, deaf clubs and other organisations to promote the University and encourage attendance to the event.
D.E.A.F are extremely proud to be working in partnership with Liverpool University, Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Manchester, University of Leeds, Aston University, University College London, London School of Economics and Political School, King’s College London, Goldsmiths, University of West London, University of East London and many more! In partnership with UCAS, D.E.A.F have improved their services to D/deaf and Hard of Hearing learners through the translation of the website into BSL. D.E.A.F are in the process of establishing partnerships with Student Finance England, Disabled Student Allowance and HELOA. The actions within the partnerships aim to make the services they offer more accessible to d/Deaf and hard of hearing learners. This is achieved through the delivery of Deaf Awareness Training to staff members, through the translation and modification of materials and through delivering expert advice.
D.E.A.F have received 15 awards for our regional and national work to date. An invitation was received to attend the Queen's Garden Party in recognition of our dedication, hard work and positive influence for the D/deaf community. We are also quality assured.
D.E.A.F are keen to work in partnership with numerous Universities to make a positive difference to the lives of D/deaf and Hard of Hearing learners and to raise awareness of Higher Education. We know that there are many D/deaf and hard of hearing people living nationally who would benefit from an event at your institution.

There are now fewer D/deaf learners within both Further and Higher Education throughout the UK. Deaf Education Advocacy Fellowship aim to halt the low percentage and encourage students to reach their potential. Providing accessible information to d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing people will aid them in their right to access to education and to achieve their potential.
