I have been asked by a friend to expand on my last post on Facebook & Twitter which read... "#CONFIDENCE... it's the perfect anti-bully repellant... develop yours for a much happier life! #AspireActAchieve!" So here it is... For a great deal of my life I had a constant battle with the bullies in my life! I was taught that the best way to deal with bullies is to fight back and that is what I did! And so it proved that when I stood up to the bully he or she backed down and ceased to trouble me because it is true that ALL bullies are cowards! However what also happened was that when one bully disappeared another one appeared to take their place and so continue the cycle of misery! It wasn't until I began my recovery from my nervous & emotional breakdown in 1998 that I suddenly realised that I was bringing this on myself by transmitting my fears and insecurities to the outside world! You see bullies ARE cowards and they prey on those who are fearful and insecure... and they are very good at spotting the signs in us! The solution then was to gain self confidence & self assurance as this would undoubtedly become my bully repellant! This has not been an easy task and I have had to work extremely hard to accomplish it... but I have faced my many fears and I have learned to let go of them so that they no longer control me! As a result I am much more confident, outgoing and assertive... and guess what... the bullies no longer appear in my life!
