Popular Notting Hill student Susie Garden was voted runner-up in Pitman Training's annual Student Of The Year awards on 19th November. The 28 year old South African, who has completed her Executive PA diploma, won points for her application of the learning points in her job with a large, national housebuilder. Susie, who had previously run her own retail business in Chelsea's Kings Road, claims her Pitman Training course has changed her life. "As soon as I graduated with my diploma, I doubled my income. It was a real life-changer and at first I couldn't believe it! When I first enrolled, I was a bit wary because the course was rather expensive but now I can see that it more than paid for itself. I just wish you had centres in South Africa because I've got lots of friends back home who would really benefit from a course like mine." Susie's prize, a trophy plus a cheque for £250.00, was awarded by Hayley Taylor, Channel 4's "Fairy Jobmother," whose experience with Pitman Training's students enabled her to make an inspirational speech about the value of these coveted diploma programmes. This was a recurring theme throughout the evening, with many Pitman fans coming forward to testify to the value of the coures providers offerings. Pitman London franchisee Keith Wymer enjoyed the event and claimed: "We are really proud of Susie. She is absolutely our typical student, coming from a non-secretarial background, highly motivated and now working at management level for a big company. I hope lots of other people will be inspired by what Susie, and indeed hundreds of our students have achieved." Hanna Craig, Head Of Training at Pitman Training Notting Hill remarked, “There was no doubt in my mind that Susie would win an award. She worked really hard for her diploma and fully deserves all the good things that have come her way as a result.” In an exciting evening of glittering awards, the outright winner of Student Of The Year was Stacie Pettman who studied at Pitman Training in Dover. Stacie accepted a trophy plus a cheque for £1000.00!
