Shouldn't your New Year's Resolution have included Private Medical Insurance?

Shouldn't your New Year's Resolution…

This is the best time of year to review your attitude towards healthcare. A new year’s resolution should represent a commitment to protecting your family’s health.

With the constant news articles about NHS failure, lack of funding and ever increasing waiting times, it’s easy to see why many have lost faith in our much -maligned health service and turned to private medical insurance. Unfortunately the yearly budget is never quite enough to meet demand, either due to lack of staff, equipment, drugs or treatment options.

For most people, the first time they consider private treatment is when they are on an NHS operation/procedure waiting list, or have been refused tests or treatment by their GP. This is a frustrating position to be in, with internet forums full of people complaining about how long they might have to wait, how much worse their problem is becoming, whether they’re able to work anymore and ultimately, how they can’t afford to pay up front for private treatment. The answer is Private Medical Insurance BEFORE you become ill. Insured clients protect themselves and their family for a nominal fee, ensuring that any illness or injury is quickly treated in their choice of hospital, by the best surgeon or GP.

Many benefit from a free 24 hour GP helpline, manned by experienced GP’s, in stark contrast to the unpopular NHS 111 service run by less qualified staff reading set questions from a screen. Children are inevitably ill late at night on a bank holiday Sunday, and a fast call to an experienced GP is the best way of getting a fast diagnosis and a delivered prescription (often within 1 hour), without a stressful four hour wait at A&E with a snotty toddler.
