I am now just about able to face food again after an enjoyable day on Sunday helping the wonderful Birdhouse Fund man their homemade cake sale in Albert Square at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival. Rarely is it that you get the chance to eat numerous slices of cake with the justification that you are "doing good" and I would like to think that the personal recommendations I was able to make as a result of my greediness helped to boost sales! The Birdhouse Fund is a Manchester-based charity which helps women who are facing hard times, by providing grants of up to £500 to give them a step up in life. It's great to be part of local girls (or Birds!) helping local girls. The Birdhouse has events most months, and it's a fantastic way to have a day or evening out whilst knowing you're also helping out a great cause. Tomorrow we host a fabulous fashion show at House of Fraser Manchester - looking forward to seeing a few of our lovely ladies strutting their stuff! Can't wait!
