The Christmas carol tells us “’Tis the season to be jolly” it encourages us to put aside all our worries at this time of year and be happy. After we have decked the halls with our bows of holly, we sit down around the over laden table and if we are one of the fortunate ones, we tuck in and enjoy the festive fare on offer accompanied by our nearest and dearest.
And then comes reality, after the festive season is behind us, we realise we have eaten and drunk far too much. Yes it was enjoyable, but what about the consequences to our health and our physical and emotional well-being? There are parts of us we are not 100% happy and would like to change.
After much personal reflection on how we have lived our lives in the past, we make our New Year Resolutions. We consider our lifestyle and resolve to be a better person. It may be to eat less, drink less, smoke less or give up completely. We may want to be healthier, more positive and assertive or one of the myriad other improvements that we may feel we need to make to us become a better person, a more successful, determined person.
We embark upon a journey that is strange and unfamiliar territory to us; we really TRY to become a better person, using all of our own resources and self-determination.
How many of us decide to give in and revert back to the old person because we weren’t strong or determined enough, we just didn’t know how to succeed?
So can we succeed, or are we always destined to fail?
When we start to learn a new skill for example driving a car, we find a person who can teach us how we can become a safe and competent driver a qualified driving instructor. He or she will have seen it all before and can call upon many years of experience to advise and help us reach our desired goal of becoming a driver.
So what is different about our personal goals? We want to achieve something but due to our weaknesses and lack of knowledge, we become despondent, impatient for success and give up.
That is where people like me come in. Qualified Life Coaches who have spent many years studying and working with people to help them re-discover and reinforce the resources that are buried deep in their own subconscious.
Everybody needs help at some time. We need help to re-discover all of our positive resources in our psyche and how to use them to become the person we want to be. If we set our mind to it and truly believe we can, we can attain a much higher level of success that we believed was unattainable.
If you want to, you can be a stronger, more positive, assured person taking control of your life and learning how to use the positive resources each of us has to achieve your desired goal.
