This week I received a telephone call from a firm of accountants, selling me their services. They would post me a copy of their leaflet, I was told, so that I could find out more about them.
The leaflet arrived promptly, but what a disappointment. It was poorly designed, hand been folded (badly) by hand, and contained several spelling mistakes. Even their web address was wrong! The leaflet, on the whole, gave a very bad impression of the company.
Why does this matter? Well, you wouldn't dream of turning up to an important meeting in your scruffy jeans and the t-shirt you use for decorating, would you? No, because as a personification of your company you want to look professional, efficient and organised. In the same way, the promotional materials you send out should reflect the same values.
With this in mind, take a look at the printed materials you send out to people, your business cards, stationery, and brochures. Are you sure they are reflecting your company positively? Do they look a bit dated and need a revamp? Do you think they could be improved?
I offer a free consultation service for businesses that need advice about their company image. I would be happy to come and see you to review the literature you have now and to discuss any improvement that could be made. The consultation is completely free of charge and you will be under no obligation to use my company (Corner Design) in the future.
Needless to say, I shall be informing a certain firm of accountants of my free consultation too. Let's hope they take up my offer!
