Employee Support
Being isolated at home, be it for home working or furloughing, will undoubtedly affect the normal balance of an individual’s mental well-being. Whilst some individuals will cope very easily, most people will be negatively impacted to some degree and a minority will be experience a much larger reaction. To compound this, being at home away from your work colleagues (and also your other normal social contacts) has removed one of the normal day-to-day coping mechanism of just mixing with colleagues.
In this respect there is some really useful advice published by Public Health England (PHE) on how to try to protect your own mental wellbeing. Please do circulate this link to your employees (furloughed or otherwise), it does offer some good guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-for-the-public-on-mental-health-and-wellbeing/guidance-for-the-public-on-the-mental-health-and-wellbeing-aspects-of-coronavirus-covid-19
As a CHARM user, we would like just to remind you that we are able to offer remote (telephone) Management Referrals / Occupational Health Assessments to support any struggling employees and/or we can also organise remote counselling for those employees who could benefit from a little bit of direct support.
If you haven’t used our counselling services before then please do drop us an email using or call us on 01270 767880 to enquire about how we can help in this respect. We have most of our staff working from home at the moment and would prefer an email enquiry, so it goes immediately to the right person.
