Should you lose capacity without a Power of Attorney – you will not have a decision on what happens to your health care needs.
The local council will decide on your health needs, including any care you may need.
You or your family do not get to make those decisions. The local Council will then decide where you receive your care and will even assess you or your family for care home fees.
This could have a huge impact on your estate and any monies left for your loved ones. This can be Protected against.
When speaking with a Power of Attorney specialist – you will be able to speak about your health care wishes, as well what you can do to protect yourself or family members from paying care home fees.
