Last summer BCG tried to predict the outcome of Wimbledon by using AI – in the end it was all a bit of a waste of time and electricity, as it predict Federer would win and he didn’t, knocked out by the South African Kevin Anderson if I remember rightly?…..anyway, Artificial Intelligence is on the rise again in the world of sport.

Apparently, Professional services firm SAS has got themselves involved in trying to predict who will win this seasons Premier League Golden Boot competition by using Opta's new xG system which, gives you all the historic data you need to pinpoint who will be crowned king come May the 19th.

The link below gives a lot more detail, can I see it working? I’m not so sure, but it’s strange to think that we could be close to losing out on some elements of our great sporting occasions…….I’m just off down to the bookies………tbc.
