A US study, upon which the article is based, suggests that adopting a stronger masculine and feminine images respectively increases attractiveness to the other partner and so encourages more amorous advances. It goes on the report that couples who adhere to the traditional model enjoy 1.6 more visits to the bedroom over the course of a year.
