I am a versatile, high-achieving change management consultant with international experience in both the private and public sectors, including oil and gas, utilities, telecommunications, central and local government and the MOD. I have worked with large, global corporations as well as a number of smaller companies.
For over 30 years I have devised and implemented business-critical transformational change for blue-chip clients, including BP, Shell, ENI, Petrobras and Statoil, leading complex restructuring initiatives, delivering significant improvements, building revenues and reducing costs. Projects have included the total restructure of a business unit for a major oil company, implementation of a new billing process and service centre for an electricity supplier and the identification of a more effective funding structure for a large leisure centre.
As a natural extension of my consulting work, I have worked with individuals who want to improve their own performance and in a number of cases make a dramatic change in their career direction.
My own independent consultancy, Azarel, which I launched over ten years ago, owes its on-going success to my solid strengths in change management, leadership, process optimisation and financial control. My approach is simple and extremely effective. I work with organisations to help them generate real, lasting and beneficial change. In short, I make things happen.
I take tremendous pride in all the achievements I have made throughout my career. I have streamlined the way companies operate, restructured and optimised complex business processes and, most importantly, engaged closely with the workforce to gain their whole-hearted support.

    Azarel LLC

    I launched the company to provide a range of consultancy services to all sizes and types of organisation, from global oil giants, to single site SMEs. The delivery of transformational change is the key factor common to all Azarel projects; this has brought genuine and lasting benefits to clients across a wide number of industry sectors and helped to reinforce engagement at all levels of the enterprise.

    Some Azarel engagements include:

    §  Business Transformation: Supporting a developing Middle East Oil Company through a significant transformation process, with the objective od doubling size within five years.

    §  Creation of Integrated Corporate Planning Process: Achieved business-critical deadline; turned around a faltering project on behalf of a ME oil company, implemented a new approach and a rigorous planning process and delivered a robust new plan on time.

    §  Implementation of an Operating Management System: Part of a team that implemented a new OM system for the Drilling division of a major international oil company; liaised with client team to achieve engagement, understanding and acceptance of a new way of working following a major environmental incident.

    §  Launch of Technical Consulting Group: Played integral role in formation of new Technical Consulting Group for a global oilfield services company; developed operational infrastructure and processes for optimum functionality. 

    §  New Technology Marketing: Commissioned to identify and form links with oil companies with possible interest in an innovative technology that had the potential to separate oil, water and solid particles more efficiently.

    §  Training Course Provision: Boosted productivity; devised and delivered a series of consulting training courses for a telecommunications network services provider.

    §  Business Relocation: Project-managed entire relocation of a wholesale bathroom distribution company to a new 37,500 sq ft building; oversaw layout, procurement and fitting out; achieved move on time and within budget.

    SBC is the management consulting unit of Schlumberger, a global leader in oilfield services; it was acquired by Accenture in 2015. Recruited into senior team to develop business and lead large projects with major oil companies in Europe and Africa.

  • Syntegra

    Managing Consul;tant
    100+ Employees 2001 - 2004

    Syntegra is a consulting and systems integration business and a wholly owned subsidiary of BT Group, helping large commercial and public sector organisations change the way they work through the effective exploitation of technology. 

    Appointed to strengthen Syntegra’s consulting capability, working across a number of business sectors. Projects included the development of a business case for a CRM implementation, commissioned by a large UK local authority, and provision of business cases for several other IT projects. Acted as lead consultant to assist BT with the implementation of the company’s Finance Function business transformation.

    Headhunted to join company as Senior Manager in the Energy Practice; elected to Partner Group as Principal in 2000. Spearheaded a broad range of global assignments with major international oil firms, managing all aspects of strategic change, process improvements and organisational restructure. Realised specific sales targets and objectives as member of key account teams, and oversaw recruitment to European Energy practice.
