Interior Designer21 - 100 Employees 2003 - 2009One of my key roles at NJSR was to design and project manage 54 schemes for Merseyside Police Authority, including the interior reconfiguration & refurbishment, and external re-design of offices, custody suites and police stations from £5K to £200K construction value, involving all associated stages from taking client briefs, devising programmes, design work including co-ordination of services from M&E consultants, structural engineers and quantity surveyors, preparation and submission of building regulations and planning applications, writing scope of works documents and NBS schedules, tender information preparation and writing tender reports through to management of the works on site, liaising with clients and contractors to ensure a satisfactory completion date on budget. I also prepared, chaired, and took the minutes at, the associated meetings and was responsible for the general running and overall co-ordination of the projects answering directly to one of the head of Estates Management at Merseyside Police Authority. I have written feasibility studies for a wide range of projects including a rifle range and have also co-wrote an extensive report reviewing the existing custody suites and advising on appropriate action to ensure the suites conform to new Home Office guidance. I was also involved in the design of a wide variety of projects, supporting architects on projects such as a 54 unit housing scheme for Servite Houses and bespoke housing and workshops for Autism Initiatives among others. I have also designed submissions for a partial campus reconfiguration for Southport College, an internal refurbishment of the Swan women’s centre in Liverpool and a bespoke office refurbishment for Navman Wireless. I was a heavily involved in liaising with a recently appointed marketing and PR company, working directly for a partner at NJSR.
